Yet another in a long string of unintended unintentional absences from logging in here will end…now.

Inspiration comes within. Or does it? For me, inspiration comes in different shapes and sizes, and comes from different places, and I have gotten pretty damn good at recognizing it and hiding away whenever it rears its head. But strangely I found a muse, about 164cm tall (or so she claims). And on that note I am back.

The return to this site was along a road that definitely missed its last few maintenence sessions. Problem One: The domain name had expired and subsequently had been bought by something/someone who was more than willing to charge me 25x the normal fee. Damn them! That’s the price I pay for letting something slide like “Renewal.” Well the site is paid for and now back in my Domain Manager. And just like that, I step full foot into Problem Two: Passwords. Problem Three: Email accounts these passwords are linked to, and their passwords. And so on…

The moral to this story seems to have to do with this rather petite muse who is passively compelling my browser to point to this site, and somehow making my fingers press certain keys. I’m back. And I happily blame her…

“Fear of Flying, 2010 Holiday Edition.” Or, “O! say, does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave, O’er the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave?”

Sorry, Mr. Key, now it waves over a land of people who are more than willing to give up their (and my) freedoms because they shudder in fear from every newscast they hear.

This rant started back in December of 2k10, and had to do with the GD TSA Xray scanners at the airports and the groping that goes on, but since I am months late in completing the thought, we’ll just see where it leads us…

Land of the Free? Home of the Brave? Home of a bunch of bloody cowards more like. I have to admit that I cannot stomach to watch Fox News on my own. The only time I am subjected to that is when I am stuck in a relative’s home who cannot change the channel, or stuck in a room with some right wing addict who can’t change the channel. Now I am not the most informed person in the mountains here, nor am I the least. I get my “news” from a fairly well rounded list of sites and stations (Fox News not being one of them). Now when the Norwegian terror act occurred, I actually was in proximity to listen to Fox News. I was really amazed by how quickly and thoroughly the Al Queda and Islamoterror flew into the face of the listeners. The talk was of the invasion of the US and most of Europe by Muslims and the inevitable onslaught of Sharia Law upon all of us…

Now I must admit that I have never really considered Sharia Law being foisted upon us in the dead of night. I can’t picture myself waking up one morning, walking outside in my skivvies to look at the sky, and getting stoned for some adulterous dealings that may or may not have gone on in Santa Fe over the weekend (no, not that kind of stoned). I mean really…Sharia Law? In New Mexico? Well my friends, your humble typist heard a debate of Fux News…and I shit you not, one side was saying that Sharia Law is almost de facto in….wait for it…. OKLAHOMA!!! Holy Sheep Shit! I am at such a total loss that words refuse to come out of my fingers. Sharia Law. In Oklahoma. You have got to be kidding me. But to the Fox masses, it is a well-known fact.

Now I’ve never been to Spain, but I’ve been to Oklahoma. And if ever there was a group of people who could be put on fear alert, it just might be them. “Sharia Law, coming to your town!” so the kinfolk get out the guns and watch the streets vigilantly waiting for that Sharia Law bastard to come trying to break in their houses. I can see it clearly.

Sorry again Mr. Key, but our nation has changed. We are kept in line by a steady stream of propangandic fear. As King Julien so aptly put it in “Madagascar,” “They’re just a bunch of pansies.”

Ha

Out of date...

WTF? I fight my way to find the password to my olde blog site, I log in and read that the WordPress software needs an update. Once that is done, I log back in and the pretentious version 3.2.1 tells me that my browser is out of date. If I turn on my webcam, I have no doubt my choice of attire will be questioned. Some people live in the past. Not me. I just bought my clothes there…
